Hannah Friedman was Research Assistant for the project between October 2008 and September 2010. She received her BA in Anthropology and Classics at the University of California, San Diego. She completed a PhD at the University of Leicester under the supervision of Prof. D. Mattingly. Her thesis was about the Faynan, a copper mining district of Southern Jordan, exploited during the Roman and Byzantine periods. Her research interests include metalla, ancient industry, and GIS. She is now an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University.
